Sotheby’s Is Auctioning 100 of the Rarest Nike SBs

Sotheby’s, legendary broker of fine art, antiques, jewellery and collectables has recently made a foray into the rare sneaker market, holding a number of auctions that feature unique and sought-after footwear. Whether it’s Obama’s Nike Hyperdunk PE, Ye’s Grammy-worn Air Yeezy’s or Michael Jordan’s original Air Ships ( which sold for $1.472 million!) Sotheby’s has got you covered. Their next sneakersphere-related endeavour celebrates the monolithic 20-year anniversary of Nike’s SB division and they’ve listed 100 of the rarest releases to ever do a kick flip.

SB Dunks are aplenty! All the usual suspects can be seen, Diamond Supply’s ‘Tiffany’, a sample ‘Paris’, Concept’s ‘Red Lobster’, ‘Freddy Kruegers’ and of course, Jeff Staple’s legendary ‘Pigeon’. Other grails include Futura 2000’s Nike SB Dunk High ‘FLOM’, meaning ‘For Love or Money’, with signed box and skateboard deck. Originally releasing in 2004, only 24 pairs were created and in 2020 a ‘FLOM’ was sold by Sotheby’s for a whopping $63,000. Although SB Dunks make up majority of the listings, Sotheby’s also included other rarities such as, the Michael Lau x Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski ‘10th Gardener’ with crisp wood details and Nike SB Blazer ‘Milk Carton’.
