Stedelijk Museum Almelo Hosting ‘Sneaky Shoes’ Expo in the Netherlands
Europe tends to get the lion’s share of sneaker events, and the continent has just increased that tally by one. The Stedelijk Museum Almelo in the Netherlands is hosting the ‘Sneaky Shoes’ expo, showcasing 150 different limited edition and collectible sneakers from a number of brands.
A number of Dutch sneakerheads have banded together to pick out special sneakers – ‘Sneaky Shoes’ – from their collections to display to a curious audience. The museum typically displays more traditional items like vintage postcards, historical artefacts, and paintings from local artists, so a sneaker expo is a little different than usual.
On show is not just rare sneakers from the past couple of decades, but also one-off items like a signed football foot. Plus, there is a healthy selection of custom sneakers and related artworks which have long been a backbone of the scene.
There aren’t too many live photos of the expo just yet, as it recently opened, but the sneak peek from exhibitor kwills offers a glimpse of the vintage gems on show.
The ‘Sneaky Shoes’ expo is open now, and runs until January 16 next year, so there’s plenty of time to visit! No bookings are required. More info is on the museum’s .
