Update September 21, 2023: Stone Island have unveiled their upcoming New Balance 991v2 collaboration. Using a utilitarian olive, grey, and black on the sneaker, a latticed mesh upper makes up the base with nubuck and leather placed on the overlays. Reflective accents are placed throughout to give the sneaker an industrial vibe, with co-branding placed throughout.

The Stone Island x New Balance 991v2 MADE in UK is set to drop on October 4 via Stone Island’s channels with a global launch to follow on October 18.

Back in 2013, luxury Italian sportswear brand Stone Island began their partnership with New Balance, meaning this year they celebrate their monumental 10th anniversary. The duo has already been partying hard all year long, with releases of a collaborative 574 and FuelCell, but now they are set to debut a brand new model, which is 'coming soon'.

Dubbed the 991v2, this is an entirely new silhouette from New Balance, and it will be unveiled to the world through this Stone Island collaboration. Taking to socials to tease the model, all that’s been provided so far is a single shot with the Stone Island compass logo plastered along the outsole. There has been speculation that the new iteration may be a hybrid, similar to the 997.5, which joined the top-half of the 997 with a 998 midsole. There was also the 991.5 that released back in 2016 and combined the classic 991 upper and 1500 sole unit. Fans are eager to see what the freshest NB silhouette looks like.

Stone Island and New Balance are yet to reveal anything else regarding their 991v2 collaboration, but more info should be made available soon. Stay locked to Sneaker Freaker to keep updated!
