The Supreme x Nike Air Bakin’ Drops This Week!

Update February 28, 2023: Following yesterday’s leaks, Supreme have officially unveiled their Nike Air Bakin’. Two colourways will drop via the skate brand’s US locations and webstore on March 2, and a Japan release will follow on March 4.

First surfacing in 1997, the Nike Air Bakin’ is a cult classic originally designed by Wilson Smith (the brains behind other classics like the Air Max 95). Popular among the basketball fraternity in the late 1990s and early 2000s, the silhouette was laced by NBA stars such as Penny Hardaway and Chris Webber. But the sneaker later transcended the hardwood, becoming a lifestyle option thanks to its solid conceptual design.

Streetwear world-eaters Supreme are again raiding Nike’s archival department, this time to reanimate the Air Bakin’ in 2023, which appears in a duo of colourways. Supreme have opted for two very different options: a crisp, all-white design and another emblazoned with an eye-catching purple and yellow gradient. The latter looks to leverage a black suede mudguard, red laces and Swoosh branding. The all-white presentation utilises more conventional materials, opting for tumbled leather on the overlays and smooth leather on the mudguards. Finally, both pairs are stamped with fiery NYC branding on the heels.

At this point, rumours circulating online point to a March 2 release, but make sure to keep it locked to Sneaker Freaker for official launch dates.
