Undercover Operation Recovers $2.5 Million of Stolen Goods From Sneaker Store
Recently, it seems crime has been running rampant in the sneakersphere across the whole supply chain. In a recent report, it was stated that organised crime rings were to blame for the increase in theft and they were targeting big brands. Most recently, Chicago police busted a warehouse that was storing $5 million in stolen sneakers and now reports have emerged of another heist in the Windy City.
Flee Club, located at 2221 W Taylor St in Chicago, had an SUV smash through their front door. Around four to five individuals were in the car, and they stole $100,000 worth of product with officers responding around 4:30am. The shop’s co-owner, Darris Kelly, told WGN Chicago: ‘Just devastation, my heart is broke. You put so much time and money into your store, someone just comes in overnight and takes your dream away’. This won’t be the first time that Flee Club was burgled, as thieves broke in multiple times stealing $110,000 worth of product in March last year.
Police haven’t confirmed if there have been any arrests in relation to the incident.
