Teddy Santis Teases Upcoming Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance 991s and 550s
are responsible for some of hottest this decade, and after their revival of the dropped earlier this month it's been revealed that they have more in the chamber for 2022. During a massive Instagram Story photo and video dump, ALD founder – who's usually quiet on social media – shared a first look at what appears to be forthcoming Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance and colabs.
Santis, who also leads curation for New Balance's premium lifestyle line, first showed off the 991, which features cream-coloured mesh overlaid with buttery light brown leather and rich olive green suede. It also comes in a special box that states 'Made in England, designed for Mulberry Street,' making it ALD's first MADE in UK sneaker.
On the 550 front, there was only a single photo to be seen but it appeared to reveal three new colourways of the once-forgotten 1980s hoops shoe turned modern-day lifestyle favourite. A duo of pairs combined either forest green or dark navy leather with cream-toned mesh (a new material for the 550) while the barely-visible third pair seemed to be constructed of shaggy grey suede.
There's currently no release date or pricing information for this fresh batch of Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance kicks, but they may either roll out as part of the brand's next seasonal collection or see a stand-alone drop in the coming weeks. We'll be sure to update you as more info is made available!
