The First-Ever Retro of an OG Nike Air Huarache
It looks like are indeed bringing back more OG colourways of the , following the recent retro of the . Up next is this little-known white and black edition that hasn’t been seen since its OG run in 1992. For longtime Huarache collectors, this is great news.
This black and white Air Huarache is perhaps the most conservative colourway from that initial launch, while the other releases employed wild neons that went on to define the era. Understated colouring aside, everything else recalls that early 90s vibe: shiny black nylon toe boxes, contrasting soft white leather toe bumpers and eyestays, black neoprene booties, and a translucent rubber heel strap. The 2021 Air Huarache retros also see truer-to-OG detailing like the deeper midsole flex grooves and large tongue logo. Another noteworthy change is the slightly re-positioned heel strap placement, which should prevent the commonplace snapping that plagued previous Huarache retros. Hurrah!
