Instagram Archive Goes Print: The Hartcopy Journal – Volume 1
Timothy Suen founded Instagram page in early 2020 to document notable product from the past, present and future in the sneaker scene and its adjacent cultural touchpoints. The account quickly found a niche following from those with similar interests and appreciation for product, which at this point has resulted in nearly 1300 posts and over 56 thousand followers. Now, the next phase of this ongoing archival project sees a digital project turn into its debut print release, The Hartcopy Journal – Volume 1.
This title is a best-of compilation of the biggest and most culturally significant sneaker releases from 2021 spanning 168 pages. Obvious inclusions are the numerous collaborations across the major brands, but less obvious or hyped products are picked up on Hartcopy’s radar.
Hartcopy called on the services of illustrator Arthur Ortega to design the artwork for the half sleeve covers, and it’s all packaged in a protective cardboard carton with lid. The Hartcopy Journal – Volume 1 will be followed by additional titles that are already in production.
The Hartcopy Journal – Volume 1 is available now directly from Hartcopy alongside commemorative shirts, and a wider release at global boutiques including Solebox, Juice, Packer, and Limited Edt will happen on April 1.
