The Nike Air Max 90 Persuades in ‘Persian Violet’
With the imminent return of the in its OG ‘Persian Violet’ colourway, the vivid purple colour has unsurprisingly made its way across to other models in the family. Here is an upcoming that interprets the purple, white and black combo with some bold colour-blocking choices.
Let’s start from the bottom. The foam midsoles are rendered black, but the bubble accent is stark white, which is a combination not often seen. This unconventional arrangement is made further uncanny by the ‘Persian Violet’ highlight placed solely (pun unintended…) on the rear heel panel of the midsole.
Things are similarly trepidatious up top. Black mesh toe boxes against white leather uppers are almost unheard of, and the black synthetic suede mudguard almost seems scandalous. Key insertions of ‘Persian Violet’ at the throat and top eyelet triplet tie back to the source material. Peep that blacked-out tongue label, save for the purple Swoosh! Pretty cool.
By the way, ‘Persian Violet’ has crossed over into numerous Nike models over the years. The is a more contemporary example that comes to mind, but the Court Force from 2008 is a deeper cut – save that tidbit for the next sneaker pub trivia night.
The Nike Air Max 90 ‘Persian Violet’ is out now from Nike Japan, so expect wider availability soon.
