The Nike Air Max Lab Is Coming To Sydney

As we get into March, Nike will be ramping up the activities in key cities to celebrate their most iconic running series leading up to Air Max Day on March 26th. Last year , and in 2016 Sydney will play home to the Nike Sportswear Air Max Lab located in Surry Hills – a dedicated space to delve into the past, present and future of the Air Max range. There will be a number of events held at the Air Max Lab over the course of March that focuses on the Air Max from different perspectives, from discussions about the various limited editions releases over the years from a collector's perspective to inviting the Nike+ Run Club to celebrate the most important person in the Air Max world – the athlete. The space will be open to the public from the 12th onwards, with a number of interactive and immersive experiences as well as an Air Max shop and SNKRS cleaning station, but here are the key dates for the big events on the calendar:
March 12th: The space will open to the public with a Q&A session with Christopher Kevin Au, Jazz Bonifacio and our very own editor Woody to discuss the Air Max history.
March 17th: Artist of Air exhibition featuring works from Numskull, Benja Harney and Joyce Ho will bring the design ethos of Air Max to life and explore the connection between the Nike Air Max and modern artistic culture.
March 23rd: Nike+ Run Club is one of the city’s largest local run crews. In celebration of Air Max Day, a special route will start and finish at the Air Max Lab and focus on Sydney’s unique heritage and culture.
March 26th: Air Max Day! Nike have kept tight lipped about what's in-store for the party, but as Sydney will be the first city to officially kick off Air Max Day to the world – expect something big!
