The Nike Air Max Plus 2 is a Blast from the Past
A blast from the past is coming in the form of the Air Max Plus 2. The sequel to 1998’s (aka TN) had a short-lived debut run in 2000, but historically has been overlooked by all but the most devout Air-heads. Like other early-2000s Swoosh sneakers that have recently been reissued – e.g. the – it looks like Nike will be casting a wide net, with the AMP 2 featuring an array of colourful renditions.
The first header picture is an from the SF vault, but the six shots following it are the upcoming colourways. And the details seem to be mostly there. Importantly, the heel Max Air unit has the essential centre seam. Other essential components include the lateral wavy ribbing on the upper, overlaid atop the gradient mesh vamp. Even the iridescent heel counter and ankle collar panels are quite faithful to the original.
Of the upcoming colourways on show, there will be the safe black and white options, but purists will be satisfied with period correct shades of vibrant navy, purple, green and yellow, among other hues.
Stay tuned for the release details as it’s likely these are still some time away from hitting retail.
