The Nike Air Structure Triax 91 OG Colourway is Returning!
It looks like will be on an absolute tear in 2021 with retro issues of sneakerhead favourites. With the emergence of all but confirming the return of the Triax 91, many will be pleased to know the OG palette will be joining the party too!
It certainly has been a long wait for some, as the last retro of the Triax’s OG colourway was back in 2007-8, which at the time was colloquially referred to as the ‘Black Toe’ or ‘Infrared’ for pretty obvious reasons. However, for the sake of posterity, the official colourway name of the 2021 retro is known as Summit White/Neo Teal-Black-Infrared, so the nicknames still works. This four-coloured palette perhaps best shows off the complex design of the upper, which is a mix of microfiber and mesh – the perfect retro runner materials.
Underfoot, the Triax 91’s distinct midsole has been restored, complete with forefoot flex grooves and contrast strip. Likewise, the ‘Neo Teal’ and ‘Infrared’ accents on the lateral and medial Air units, respectively, are true to the original too. Some purists may argue the teal is a touch lighter this time around, but it’s unlikely to deter most seeking a box-fresh pair of Structures to beat into the ground ahead of the (hopeful) next retro in the following decade.
