The Roswell Rayguns Zap the Nike Air More Uptempo
It appears that Roswell Rayguns mythology is expanding with more thematic executions of Swoosh basketball classics. What began as a handful of Dunks grew into an , then an , and now the is joining the line-up.
The Air More Uptempo is an iconic mid-90s Nike basketball shoe, thanks largely to its massive AIR lettering stitched onto both sides of the upper. While the OG colourway is simply all-black nubuck with minimal white accents, the Rayguns edition inverts this by using white leather uppers. All of this white reveals design details not usually seen: generous midfoot perforations, double-layered toe cap, asymmetrical ankle collars, and jewel heel Swoosh.
Meanwhile, the Rayguns teams colours of yellow, orange and black highlight each letter of the aforementioned AIR letters, and also accent subtle areas like the heel and tongue pull tabs, panel lining, and Swoosh embroidery. The Rayguns’ alien-basketball head logo shows up on the heel, and the team name is printed on the insoles too. By the way, this is a GS release, hence the inclusion of visible Air only in the heel, while the mid and forefoot units are filled in with foam.
