This Yeezy 1050 Sample Pushes the Limits of adidas x Kanye West Design
Some crisp ecomm imagery has emerged on of a supposed 1050 sample, and they’re pretty out there. The three-striped (look closely, they’re there!) output of footwear concepts goes on a bit of a cosmic interlude, opting for a rather streamlined space boot silhouette, as compared to more bulbous designs like the Yeezy 500.
Perhaps the most striking element of this Yeezy 1050 sample is its bright orange colourway, which definitely pushes the futuristic aesthetic. Standard issue footwear for intergalactic construction workers, or Pluto Fashion Week runway supervisors? Only Ye can answer that question. The neon citrus completely covers the 1050, save for the contrast tan-coloured zip shroud. What lies behind this shroud – according to these from a few months ago – is a padded tongue and ankle collar, relying on the zip to hold things down.
There’s a lot going on with the outside too. Starting from the bottom, Continental rubber (thanks to a longstanding partnership between adi and the German automotive parts company) is used on the cleated tread, which is paired to a hidden midsole that only reveals itself at the massive heel cup. Attached above is what appears to be rubberised and welded mudguard and toe bumper panels, before meeting the moulded mesh high-cut ankle portion.
Given the amount of projects Yeezy has on the go, these could drop as soon as next week or never at all. Well done to whoever is now of these potential unicorns.
