Official Images: Union x Nike Dunk Low in Green and Navy
recently gave us some more insight into their forthcoming three-colourway colab with by way of a short film dubbed 'Your Ticket to the World', confirming that each of the three shoes in the pack is inspired by a different global destination: New York, Tokyo and Los Angeles. Now, after the film's debut, a scant set of official images for the pack's green and navy pair have popped up.
Though it would be reasonable to assume that this pair is inspired by the Statue of Liberty and New York's subway cars while the blue and red pair draws from Tokyo's vibrant colours and the Lakers-esque pair is inspired by Los Angeles, Union threw a playful wrench in the proceedings with their video (seen below), which shows the above pair on display in LA while the Tokyo pair is worn in NY and the LA pair is spotted in Tokyo. This city switch-up could also indicate that all three metropolises are connected by a shared love of sneaker culture! Regardless of which shoe is inspired by what locale, this pair offers two-tone colourblocking overlaid with a gridded pattern and loose-hanging threads.
From a branding standpoint, Union's Frontman figure – inspired by the late actor Sidney Poitier – appears on the lateral heel's badge and the insole. There's also a much larger Frontman that can be seen on the insole, and a customary yellow Union tag hangs from the lateral quarter. For a finishing touch, the shoes come packaged in a passport-inspired box.
Currently, there's no release date for the Union x Nike Dunk Low, though most sneaker leakers are beginning to anticipate a February release. You can expect to pay $150 for a pair when they drop.
