The Up There x New Balance 1906R Bends Light
and are back with another colab. This time, they’ve linked up to reimagine the 1906R in a sequel to their previous project, the ‘Backyard Legends’ . Sporting vintage New Balance grey tones, this playful iteration skips on the colour and opts to manipulate light and reflectivity instead. The entire silhouette is coated in a monochrome tint, besides two dashes of green on the heel badge and sockliner to provide some small accents.
Dubbed the 1906RUP, this remix of a noughties classic does away with the standard panel embossed 1906 motif, which is instead printed in a reflexive finish on a full metallic silver upper. This is poised above a double-layered mesh with its own fully reflective underlay. The soft-white midsole is accented with a custom paint job on the forefoot to create a proportion-altering aesthetic. The dreamy composition is complete with a translucent ‘Grey Ice’ coating of the N-DURANCE rubber outsole and N-ERGY shock absorbers. The pair come replete with reflective socks and four eclectic lacing options: white/reflective, metallic silver, white bungee, and white Sure.
