Zach LaVine Joins the New Balance Hoops Roster
just added to their basketball roster in a major way: two-time All-Star Zach LaVine of the Chicago Bulls has signed a multi-year deal with the brand. LaVine had been hinting at his new affiliation in recent months, as he sported the brand's silhouette during the Three-Point Shootout and All-Star Game at NBA All-Star Weekend in February. He's also been spotted rocking the popular and the in recent Instagram photos.
'New Balance is a brand that’s investing in me not just as a player but as an individual,' said LaVine. 'I wanted to partner with a company that is equally passionate about supporting my interests beyond the court.'
'Zach is a global star who has never been afraid to put in the hard work, on and off the court,' said Naveen Lokesh, the head of New Balance's sports marketing team. 'Together, New Balance and Zach will look to change the game and inspire the next generation of players.'
The exact financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed. There's also no word on a signature shoe for LaVine in the future – of the Los Angeles Clippers is currently the only New Balance Hoops athlete with his own model, but LaVine may be joining Leonard in forthcoming years. Besides Leonard, LaVine's new 'teammates' include Dejounte Murray of the San Antonio Spurs, Jamal Murray of the Denver Nuggets, Tyrese Maxey of the Philadelphia 76ers and Jaylen Brown of the Boston Celtics. Prior to signing with New Balance, LaVine inked a deal with after being drafted in 2014. He then had a four-year deal with that ran from 2017 to 2021.
