China’s basketball ‘Holy Land’ is getting its own The Dongdan court of Beijing is a pilgrimage destination for basketball players in China (it is the Rucker to NYC). For years, this court has been home to an annual streetball tournament that draws interest from far and wide dubbed Sunset Dongdan. Much like Quai 54 in Paris, is the primary sponsor of this tournament and pairs like the Air Jordan 5 Low ‘Dongdan’ and the Air Jordan 37 Low ‘Dongdan’ have come out of the partnership. However, the Air Jordan 1 has never been added to the collection – until now.

Revealed by sneaker collector @sharkicks1 on Instagram, the AJ1 'Dongdan' comes with mainly white uppers that are accented by cream toe boxes and heel panels, with the Swoosh being a slightly darker tan colour. Special embroidery pieces pay homage to the court that inspired the design. An Air Jordan Wings logo appears on one heel, while the other features the Dongdan logo. The tongue also includes a special Jordan x Dongdan emblem and the inside patch reads, ‘In One’s Element. Beijing, China’. These details celebrate the legendary court that holds such rich basketball history.

The Air Jordan 1 Low ‘Dongdan’ is expected to release in mid-2025 in time for the annual Sunset Dongdan tournament. No official word has been announced just yet, so keep locked here for all the updates.
