Sterling Ruby Has Another Collaborative Vans Collection

This will be the second time Sterling Ruby has collaborated with the OTW by Vans under his S.R. STUDIO. LA. CA. banner. Ruby was actually the first-ever collaboration that kicked off the OTW sub brand, linking on a two-pack earlier this year. The latest link-up from the designer also comes with a plethora of apparel, hosting some epic photography. Printed across many of the pieces is ‘ABSOLUTE CONTEMPT FOR TOTAL SERENITY’, which is a reference to Ruby’s ACTS sculpture series. Alongside will be three pairs of sneakers, including the , and the .

‘I’ve been photographing our family's decomposing Jack O'Lanterns after Halloween for years,’ Ruby said in a press release. ‘In an acceleration of life, they transform into fascinating abstractions. I love capturing these raw, unfiltered moments.’ The campaign for Sterling Ruby’s latest Vans colab features punk-rock band Mannequin Pussy. ‘I’m a huge fan of Mannequin Pussy – their music is complex and multifaceted, they transition effortlessly from loud to soft, aggressive to melodic, pulling it all together seamlessly,’ said Ruby. ‘I thought that they would embody the spirit of the collection in a perfect way.’
