A ‘Triple Black’ Colourway Hits the Nike Air Tuned Max
The return of the has pleased many within the sneakersphere, and this latest ‘Triple Black’ rendition is sure to continue that resurgence well into 2021. So far this year we’ve seen , , , and , while this latest all-black scheme prepares to write another chapter in the of murdered-out sneakers.
Debuting in 1999, the Air Tuned Max was part of Nike’s futuristic Alpha Project, and was promoted as being the lightest Air Max release to date. Featuring a moulded Foamposite heel, and full-length Tuned Air cushioning, the Air Tuned Max developed a niche following within the sneakersphere, as the wider world braced for the new millennium.
This year’s retro is the first time the Air Tuned Max has returned, and Beaverton have sweated the small stuff, making the re-creation as faithful as possible. Special details include the tiny forefoot bubble right under the toes, and the seam running along the middle of the heel unit.
Pairs of the Air Tuned Max ‘Triple Black’ are expected to hit Nike and selected Swoosh stockists very soon.
