Li-Ning Goes AAPE on the WAVE GOLDEN

A Bathing Ape’s sister brand AAPE is no stranger to sneaker collaboration – perhaps most known for creating their own wild inline models. Back in 2021, leaks of a potential New Balance colab were also doing the rounds, though that hasn’t yet come to fruition. Now, the diffusion line are set to celebrate their 10th anniversary with none other than Chinese sportswear giant Li-Ning!

The duo landed on the WAVE GOLDEN model, and, if you hadn’t noticed, it’s inspired by 90s-era skate sneakers. This won’t be Li-Ning’s first foray into the skating market. The brand recently signed skate legend Erik Ellington to curate his very own line.

KPU and leather cover the upper in this colab, with DUAL CUSHION tech injected into the sole unit for max comfort. AAPE make their mark with specialised heel and tongue branding and, of course, their signature camo print along the lateral and medial.

Two colourways are set to drop this October. The black iteration will likely be highly limited, while the white pair will see more availability. A release in select countries in Asia will occur this month, with a wider release to come towards the end of the year.
