adidas Unveil Latest Slip-On 3D-Printed Footwear
3D printing has taken the sneaker industry by storm in recent years. Popularised by 3D-printing pioneers and their collaborations with the likes of , and , there’s been no shortage of futuristic footwear to whet our appetites for the coming years. The latest model to utilise the novel technology is an unnamed edition from adidas' Climacool line. Teased on Friday by sneaker photographer , the new streamline model is ostensibly inspired by performance running footwear but intended for everyday use.
At the time of writing, any further information is scarce, including the name of the silhouette itself. But the unnamed box suggests that the Climacool model is still early in its development cycle.
For its part, the adidas Climacool technology was first unveiled in 2002 with the Climacool 1. Designed to enhance breathability and cooling, the line has since made its way to adi’s broader catalogue, including apparel like t-shirts, shorts and training gear, where it’s valued for its temperature regulation for athletes.
Currently, we’re expecting the design to arrive sometime in 2025. For more on 3D printing, make sure to check out our breaking down the design process of the novel technology.
