Out Now: adidas Adimatic ‘Bright Yellow’
The past few decades have seen nail retro reissues of court favourites and runners from yesteryear. Looking for a new challenge has turned the Three Stripes’ attention to an untapped goldmine that is their 1990s skate catalogue. And from that they’ve dug up the cult model from circa 1996, which has been touted as one of to date. While it may be a relatively underrated style so far, this new ‘Bright Yellow’ colourway is definitely capable of catching some stares.
The Adimatic’s chunky and funky proportions help it stand out as one of the brand’s (and era’s) most unique designs. Its ‘sawtooth’ heel and toe bumpers and wavy midsole work in tandem with the bulbous upper, which is appropriately puffed in the right places, namely the tongue and ankle collar.
On the colourway front, this yellow and blue edition may be a little left field for the Adimatic, but this combo is pure adi heritage. The mix has been seen on a wide variety of their terrace models and some earlier running models, and it works well here too – especially when paired with its gum sole.
The Adimatic ‘Bright Yellow’ is available now exclusively from adidas.
