adidas Celebrate 4/20 By Adding Rolling Papers to Their Campus 80s
The High Holiday is almost upon us, and sneaker brands are preparing to light up a bowl to join in on the 4/20 fun, especially with their latest ‘Croptober’.
The global marijuana holiday is celebrated on April 20 – hence the name 4/20 – and has been since the early 1970s. On this day, stoners come together to smoke up, pass their dutchies to the left-hand side, and celebrate all things kush. Over the past few decades, sneaker brands have joined in on the smoke sesh, crafting that have been the perfect cottonmouth cop. It’s become somewhat of a tradition, and we’ve received some highly limited sought-after iterations over the past few years, especially from the Nike SB Dunk High.
While Nike have remained quiet this sour diesel season, adidas have rolled their legendary Campus 80s into a fat ol’ doobie in preparation for an April drop. Interestingly, this will be Team Trefoil’s second kush Campus, following the South Park-themed that debuted in 2021. For their latest, the whole upper has been ensconced in rolling papers, with nappy green suede underneath to signify ganja, man. Alongside the wear-away detailing, tie-dye patterns have been added to the liner, which also features a specialised insole logo.
If you’re not high enough to cop, you can find adidas’ high-grade za-themed Campus 80s at select retailers on April 20.
