adidas Celebrate London Culture with UltraBOOST and ZX 9000 GORE-TEX 'UNDERGROUND'
No good roadman outfit is complete without the proper crep, so have crafted a two-pack of UK-exclusive 'Underground' sneakers in tribute to British subcultures. Consisting of the and the , each offers an all-black colour scheme, a full-length liner that was made to combat London's inclement weather and plenty of technical enhancements too.
The collection's UltraBOOST is essentially an upgraded with the last of an . It overlays its Primeknit upper with rubberized mudguards somewhat similar to the ones seen on the , add a flash of flair with red detailing under the tongue and also supplies a heel tab, an embellishment not normally seen on the UB line. Trail-style outsoles are thicker than usual and use a signature Continental rubber to bolster the BOOST cushioning, with standard laces swapped for speed laces with a fidlock closure.
Just like the UltraBOOST, the ZX 9000 has a flash of red on its black upper, but here it serves a functional purpose as a piece of a buckled midfoot apparatus. Uppers are crafted of solid nylon and reinforced with rubberized overlays, the most notable of which is seen on the boot-like toe cap. A toothed outsole supplies traction, while identical heel tabs and fidlock lace closures go step for step with the UltraBOOST.
Both of these enhanced trainers are set to release exclusively in the UK on October 20. UltraBOOSTs are priced at £150, ZX 9000s at £90.
