This adidas Country is From the Future

The adidas Samba might be taking up most of the spotlight in the sneakersphere right now, but there’s no doubt that its recently acquired hype factor has brought the rest of the brand’s offerings up with it. Of course, the obvious ones are the Gazelle and the Campus – both of which are available in a plethora of muted and vibrant colourways. Less obvious is another OG adidas silhouette, a rather if-you-know-you-know style that often goes under the radar. Last year it saw a collaborative link-up with the brand of the moment – Wales Bonner – who spun two fresh takes on the design. The silhouette in question is, of course, the adidas Country.

The latest rendition of the model pulls the best from both worlds, equally looking like a retro from decades ago, as well as a shoe from the future. Dressed in matte silver uppers (slotting perfectly into fashion’s obsession with the metallic shade), the pairs are adorned with bright blue Stripes, matching heels, and tongue branding. Light gum with a touch of white makes up the outsoles.
