adidas Rewind to 2002 With the adidas Crazy 1 ‘Lakers Away’

adidas Basketball dropped some OG adidas Crazy 1 colourways in 2022, and it hasn’t stopped in 2023. Now, adidas are set to release another OG colourway in perfect timing for Los Angeles Lakers fans as the team is set to make a playoff push later this week.

Initially called the adidas Kobe 1 when Kobe Bryant was signed to the Three Stripes, Bryant wore this colourway during the 2002 NBA playoff run, resulting in their third consecutive championship. The sneaker’s design inspiration comes from the Audi TT, with its aerodynamic and rounded shape. Black makes up the upper, with purple and yellow accenting the sneaker. The Three Stripes are debossed on the medial and lateral sides with purple adidas branding stitched on the tongue.

Yellow accents are seen on the heel and toecap, plus the Torsion bar featured in the midfoot of the sneaker. The EVA foam midsole comes in black with a purple herringbone outsole that uses more yellow accenting on the outsole’s branding.

The adidas Crazy 1 ‘Lakers Away’ is set to drop on April 15, 2023, via adidas channels and at select retailers for $150.
