adidas Make it Easy Being Green with Recycled Primegreen Collection
Going green has been a major focus for over the last few years, and now they’re doing it in another sense: enlisting a troupe of legendary green characters for the Primegreen collection.
Joining adidas’ famed Parley for the Oceans partnership, Primegreen represents another element of the brand’s commitment to end plastic waste. A performance fabric that contains no virgin plastic, Primegreen will be rolled out across key silhouettes as Team Trefoil move to phase out use of the virgin material by 2024.
The six-strong Stan set is helmed by two Kermit the Frog renditions, the first of which sees the loveable Muppet strike a pose on the heel, and the second bears an all-over Kermit print. Next up, Monster University alum Mike Wazowski shows up across an off-white pair with an eye-catching chartreuse sole unit. Other pairs see a scaly green upper befitting for Toy Story’s Rex, and a pastel gradient that nods to Tinkerbell. Finally, the group’s only black pair has a ‘HULK SMASH’ badge for Bruce Banner’s alter ego. Adding a final flourish, each pair wears ‘being green’ on the heel tab.
