adidas Celebrate the Samba’s Heritage With an MLS x Black Sheep Skateboards Colab
As one of the most iconic silhouettes in the Three Stripes' roster, you should be clued up on the history by now. The low-profile legend started life as a winter weather football boot, before eventually finding its feet on the terraces, skatepark and even the runway. In celebration of the Samba’s undeniable versatility, adidas have introduced the latest chapter in the model's collaborative story, embracing both its football origins and skater-boi aura through a link-up with team Charlotte FC and .
Working atop a thrashworthy all-black version of the skate-orientated Samba ADV, Black Sheep Skate Shop and Charlotte FC have opted for a relatively simple look and feel. The resulting pair boasts tumbled leather uppers, and its signature sidewall Stripes are done up in the team’s tonal blue hues. Black Sheep’s branding is stamped next to these in metallic silver writing.
As part of the wider collection, the Trefoil have also offered up another terrace fave, the , to Minnesota United and . Once again, the colab comes together on the skate-friendly version of the Gazelle, and here baby blue suedes and white accents form the colour palette.
The project is expected to be rolled out to more skate shops over the following weeks, and each pair will drop alongside a matching soccer jersey. So far, the Minnesota United x Familia x adidas Gazelle is available to cop now, while the Charlotte FC x Black Sheep Samba is expected to follow on September 21. Stay tuned for more!
