adidas Reveal the NMD_R3
Since introduced the line back in 2015, it's lived many lives. The debut caught the hype-fuelled wave of adidas' partnership with and became one of the year's most valuable shoes before settling in as a staple silhouette, has added his own twist to the model dozens of times since first working on it in 2016, and it's been used for experiments like the . Now, seven years into the game, the NMD line is entering another new chapter with the debut of the NMD_R3.
The first colourway to appear is 'Utility Green/Legend Ink/Gold Metallic,' a mostly dark palette with some vivid hits that add technical style. Uppers offer an NMD R_1-adjacent shape, but swap out the original's Primeknit or mesh construction in favour of a stretchy TPE knit that's made of at least 50 per cent recycled material. There's a reinforced toebox plus thickly-stitched midfoot seams, and the full-length BOOST midsole is partially encased in a translucent shell with coloured hits that nod to the OG NMD's midsole blocks.
Currently, this NMD_R3 is loaded onto adidas Australia's web store with a scheduled release date of January 31. When a new model appears on a single country-specific website, it's often an accidental early upload, so although this NMD_R3 states it's dropping in the coming days, it may well be releasing later in the year. OG-inspired black/blue/red and white/blue/red pairs have also been loaded onto StockX, though no real info surrounding their retail release has surfaced. Be sure to keep it locked here for updates!
