adidas Pushes the Ozweego Into Modernity
History’s most iconic sneakers have always transcended their sports origins to become sartorial statement pieces, and few silhouettes embody that progression quite like the . Based off the Ozweego 3 from 1998, the 2019 revamp takes the acquainted aesthetic in a new direction, adopting a futuristic contoured construction, and fusing it with the classic 90s elements that we all know and love.
Headlined with an easy-to-rock ‘Core Black’ colourway in men’s and women’s sizing, the all-new Ozweego makes use of a combination of mesh, suede and smooth TPU on the upper, resulting in an agile, lightweight feel. The unique lace closure and eyestay collar tubing work to evenly distribute pressure across the foot for added cosiness, while the reflective piping and searing ‘Solar Green’ burst on the Three Stripes combine to offset the darker tones.
Down below, the attention-grabbing EVA midsole unit brings just the right amount of chunk, making use of adidas’ famed adiPrene technology for another heritage homage to the OG.
