Los Angeles’ Football Teams Get Their Own adidas Shoes
While football is known as ‘the world’s game’, it’s taken a little more time in America to get people watching a round ball as opposed to a prolate spheroid. Limited-edition themed sneakers have gone hand-in-hand with the sport taking off in the US, and now we can turn our attention to the upcoming and release, in honour of the LAFC and LA Galaxy teams.
The indoor staple Samba here provides a clean template for a LAFC edition. Smooth beige leather meets a fine suede toe bumper to meet OG specifications. While fuzzy brown suede stripe branding and ankle tabs add textural depth. Seemingly intended as a pub pair due to its light colours and soft uppers, the gum rubber outsole is still ready for any impromptu kickabouts. This colourway is complete with custom Los Angeles text and logos.
The Gazelle is a similarly subtle affair, which hides some nods to the LA Galaxy team. This model was originally designed as a multi-surface training shoe and is a common sight on the sidelines. What is less frequently spotted is the custom gold Galaxy text on the sides, a subtle flip on the original Gazelle branding. The moulded tongue surface has also been modified to be more reminiscent of a goal net, which is another nice touch.
These football-themed shoes will release directly from adidas on November 13.
