adidas Have Resurrected their Samba Millennium
Towards the tail-end of 2023, and on the silhouette, hinting that the late-2000s model was making a return to shelves. Now, imagery has surfaced through boutique retailer BAIT of a GR version in the classic Samba tones with gum soles.
While the regular adidas Samba continues to dominate the pop-cultural zeitgeist, its Millennium counterpart sits as somewhat of a forgotten relic to modern-day heads. Originally touching down circa 2009, the Samba Millennium hosted then-modernised tech details for indoor football. Their added comfortability and support made these a preferred everyday sneaker for many, until adidas put the silhouette on hiatus.
Will the Millennium take the crown from the regular Samba as the the top dog in the 2024 sneakersphere? Only time will tell, as they look vastly different. The 09 model rocks a higher midsole and all-round chunkier vibe, and there’s also added branding on the toe box and an embroidered tongue label. The latest iterations to touch down will arrive in the classic black and white, with one featuring a black upper with white details and the other boasting the opposite with a white base with black touches. Both don gum outsoles.
An exact release date hasn’t been revealed as of yet, but since imagery is out, expect a drop soon.
