The adidas SL 72 Is Back in Business
As the name suggests, the released way back in 1972 as an ultra-lightweight athletic-geared sneaker. Over 50 years later, and the Team Trefoil icon is still kicking around. In recent times, the SL 72 has also taken part in the successful x adidas partnership, reigniting its reputation as a reliable everyday beater. Now, adidas are preparing to relaunch the OG colourway, plus a Brazil-themed edition in slightly elevated builds.
SL stands for Super Light, so both of these iterations host the classic SL 72 build, composed using a full nylon base layer. Plush suede overlays take over the rest of the upper, alongside the classic SL 72 branding details. OG colour-blocking has been used on both with a complementary gum outsole and added rugged tread.
Don't sleep! The adidas SL 72 is back in business, with these two colourways landing at select boutique retailers on December 15.
