Having been around for ten years, you bet Spezial hosts a wide catalogue with a stack of sought-after iterations. To celebrate a decade in business, Aspden has announced the release of the ‘Decade Pack’, which includes a swathe of Spezial classics.

Kicking off the epic ‘Decade Pack’ is the SPZL Blackburn in the classic ‘Nightsafe’ colourway. Originally touching down in 2019, the Blackburn was part of the adidas City Series and took its name from Aspden’s hometown. The colourway, dubbed ‘Nightsafe’, was inspired by an organisation in the area that helps vulnerable and homeless youth. Only 160 pairs were created, making these a sought-after pair for Spezial fans and beyond. Another heater adidas are resurrecting for the ‘Decade Pack’ is the Garwen, which was brought back in 2017 and took inspiration from the Brisbane model that released in the 1970s. This silhouette has been engaged in a swathe of collaborations with the likes of Union and Oasis’s Noel Gallagher. This new pair will host a crisp tan and gum sole combo.

Following the Garwen, adidas will also drop a Lacombe, which originally dropped in 2016 and later in 2018 as part of the Team Trefoil mainline. This tennis-geared iteration took elements from archival tennis models like the Newcombe and harks back to design of the 70s and 80s. The grand finale of the ‘Decade Pack’ is the adidas in the classic green colourway, which was originally released in 2014 exclusively with legendary retailer There’s a to how this pair came together, but essentially Nigel Lawson, co-founder of OP had a pair of original adidas Californias that Aspden wanted to reference when creating the Ardwick. Lawson didn’t want to send them to the Trefoil headquarters because he was scared of them getting lost or damaged, so, he ended up hand delivering them all the way to Germany.
