adidas SPEZIAL Bring Back the Mallison SPZL‬‬‬ One Last Time

Gary Aspden and his Trefoil technicians brought us the Mallison SPZL in 2017 as part of spring line-up, debuting alongside the likes of the Wensley SPZL and Jogger SPZL. The Mallison SPZL, however, brought new meaning to the word ‘SPEZIAL’.

The model — a modern reinterpretation of the AS700 — was born out of a wonderful gesture of goodwill, from one passionate adidas fan to another.

Following on from the model’s debut in ‘Light Onix’/‘Night Navy’, the SPEZIAL crew have brought back the Mallison SPZL for another outing, this time in caramel-coloured suede with beige leather accents. Like last time, this season’s Mallison SPZL comes equipped with Gazelle Indoor tooling and tongues embossed with ‘Mod Trefoil’ patterning.

This sneaker marks the second and last time a shoe will carry the ‘Mallison’ name, marking a heartfelt sendoff to this deeply sentimental sneaker.

The new Mallison SPZL will release as part of drop two of the adidas SPEZIAL ‘Acid Winter’ FW18 Collection, slated for release on September 21 through selected top-tier adidas stockists.
