Introducing the New and Improved Women’s adidas UltraBOOST 22
Since its introduction in 2015, the has the running and recreational footwear game. The versatile performance shoe has undergone annual incremental updates, with a particular overhaul as the model settles into the new decade. Up next in the series’ suite of upgrades is the UltraBOOST 22, which now will see a version engineered specifically for women runners.
The UB 22 ‘represents a key milestone in adidas’ long-term commitment to offer the best product to all women, through improvements and benefits that support the needs of its diverse community.’ The biggest specific improvement is designing the shoe to the ergonomics of the female foot, which generally comes up narrower and has a different arch and ankle compared to the male counterpart. Thanks to the knitted upper, adidas can easily adjust the fit, while also integrating a traditional lacing system. Changes have also been made underfoot, with the BOOST midsole that’s been the foundation of the UB series tweaked to better support and cushion the female gait.
Beyond ergo considerations, adi have also kept sustainability top of mind, which they integrate into the UB 22 by using yarn made of 50 per cent Parley Ocean Plastic for the uppers. Also, the outsoles are supplied by Continental and use natural rubber.
The women’s UltraBOOST 22 will be available on December 9 directly from adidas.
