The adidas UltraBOOST ‘Core Black’ and ‘Cloud White’ Are Returning
How time flies. It’s already been over seven years since introduced the running shoe, which was soon adapted as a street staple and arguably kickstarted the brand’s contemporary success. Two colourways that created ripples back then – and probably still do among the most ardent fans – are the ‘Core Black’ and ‘Cloud White’, now set to kick off 2023.
The original UltraBOOST is probably the most popular configuration of the long-running range, which now uses annual nomenclature (UltraBOOST 2023, where are you?). Its familiar Primeknit upper, external TPU hardware and namesake full-length BOOST sole are reprised once more in near-identical configuration to the 2015 editions. What’s changed with the new batch is the partial use of Parley Ocean Plastic, which supposedly is helping reduce plastic waste. The Torsion shank on the midfoot is also ghostly green on these two pairs.
The ‘Core Black’ is straightforward in black and white; the ‘Cloud White’ is almost tonal, sporting an all-black outsole courtesy of Continental rubber. Some may remember the artist formerly known as Kanye West rocked a similar colourway during the UB’s heyday.
Relive that era on January 1, 2023, when these UltraBOOSTs arrive at adidas.
