adidas Unveils Futurecraft 3d: The Future Of Footwear
It was only less than 24 hours ago that hinted at the ability for customers to 3D print their own Nike sneakers in the not-so-distant future. Well, adidas has gone and beat the Swoosh to the punch today, unveiling Futurecraft, a unique 3D-printed running shoe midsole. THIS IS BIG PEOPLE! Like, almost as big as Nike Air unit big! Well...we guess time will tell. Being completely 3D printed, Futurecraft can be tailored to the cushioning needs of an individuals foot, meaning completely personalised to your own foot. Just picture this scenario. You walk into an adidas store, hit the treadmill for a couple of hot laps, some fancy computer does it's thing while you make it sweat, then boom, bam, presto: you walk out the store with a brand new, fully personalised running shoe! Additionally, if you watch the video above closely, you will notice the prototype features a completely cage-less Primeknit upper… THAT'S GAME, SET AND MATCH PEOPLE!
