Founded by in 2014, have become the experts at blowing the dust off long-forgotten silhouettes. Working extensively within the catalogue, the Queens-based imprint are now turning their attention to more renditions of the 2012 New Balance with the sleek Y2K-esque runner slotting perfectly within today’s sneaker zeitgeist.
Coming in a trio of turbo colourways, the ALD x New Balance collaboration opts for sonic palettes replete with vibrant reflective accents. The blue and neon green pair alludes to the vintage running hues seen of yesteryear, while the scorching red and silver rendition offers something a little more flashy to the proceedings. The third colourway, a subdued teal, silver and white scheme, is in-line with the premium stylings typically seen at Aimé Leon Dore, with the brand’s elevated take on streetwear no doubt driving its popularity since its inception in 2014.
As always, co-branded details are evident across all three models, with Aimé Leon Dore features on the tongues, insoles and ALD floral logo on the heels. In the engine room, the New Balance 860v2 features a sole unit with a combination of flexible ACTEVA LITE cushioning, shock absorbing N-ergy, and segmented ABZORB SBS pods at the heel (in this way similar to its footwear family, the 1906R and 2002R).
All three colourways are open for pre-orders right now from ALD’s . Each model retails for $150 and is expected to ship out in February/March 2025.
