One of the more hallowed silhouettes in the vault, it’s safe to say the Air Jordan 1 will never fall out of favour. Reinvigorated by the extraordinary success of The Last Dance documentary that aired in 2020, first signature sneaker has recently appeared in the popular ‘Reimagined’ series, which takes popular tropes and remixes them for modern audiences.

The latest is the ‘Metallic Gold’ combo, perfect for those eying some podium ‘fits for the Paris Olympics. Somewhat similar in composition to the Air Jordan 1 ‘Melo’ from 2014, the ‘Metallic Gold’ swaps out the nubuck uppers for classic black leather. It also looks like the upcoming colourway utilises a shinier material than the aforementioned Melo classic. Of course, the classic colour blocking was not unique to the ‘Melo’, with the signature blocking having been used extensively throughout the ‘Bred’ classics of the 1980s. Elsewhere, the Air Jordan 1 is emblazoned with all the classic iconography, including Wings logos on the heel tabs and Nike Air on the tongue tags and insoles. Down below, a semi-translucent outsole completes the design.

Coming in a full size run, the Air Jordan 1 High OG ‘Metallic Gold’ is scheduled to launch on August 10 at Nike and select retailers in-store and online. While you wait, make sure to check out the wild, Nike Air Max DN.
