Delayed Release! Air Jordan 1 ‘Rebellionaire’
News on this release was first published on February 10, 2022.
Update February 25, 2022: The Air Jordan 1 ‘Rebellionaire’ was originally meant to hit shelves on March 12, however word has come through from industry insider that it's been delayed! The new drop date is March 18. We'll keep you updated and whip up a guide closer to the drop date.
The ‘Rebellionaire’ is one of the quirkiest we’ve seen in a while, thanks to its all-over graphic-adorned upper and 'Banned' crosses found on the heel. Following our first look at the unique creation, sneakersphere insider has now blessed us with on-foot shots and a potential release date for 2022.
Inspired by the original Air Jordan 1 , the ‘Rebellionaire’ signifies how rebellious was by wearing his black and red signature sneakers on-court despite getting fined $5000 each game. This latest AJ1 takes cues from the Nike which released following the controversy and is embellished with graffiti-style text quoting the ad reading ‘they can’t stop you’. Composed completely of leather, this AJ1 takes colour-blocking cues from the legendary ‘Shadow’ colourway. The major point of contrast is the red crosses seen on the heel akin to the 2016 ‘Banned’ iteration.
Alongside the shots, the source has stated that the Air Jordan 1 ‘Rebellionaire’ will release on March 12 next year. No official word has surfaced as of yet, keep your eyes peeled as we continue to bring you updates.
