Carolina Hues Make Their Way Onto the Air Jordan 2 Low

Update June 14, 2023: Official photos of the upcoming Air Jordan 2 Low ‘UNC’ arrive from Nike. Take a look at the sneaker ahead of its tentative July 8th release date.

The University of North Carolina has a signature shade of blue, and Carolina Blue has been making an appearance on Air Jordans since the beginning of the Air Jordan 1. The hue now makes its return to the Air Jordan 2 Low, which was taken from an obscure PE Michael Jordan wore during an exhibition basketball game.

In an alumni basketball game between North Carolina and UCLA in 1987, Michael Jordan was wearing an Air Jordan 2 Low that matched the Tar Heels jersey worn during the game. Now 35 years later, the sneaker is coming out to the public.

The clean and simple colourway features white leather on the base with University Blue accents. The piping, liner, heel counter and Wings logo are seen in the light blue hue. White is seen in the midsole, with a grey and University Blue outsole finishing off the sneaker.

The Air Jordan 2 Low ‘UNC’ is expected to release on July 22, 2023, via SNKRS and at select retailers for $150. Keep it locked to Sneaker Freaker for any updates.
