This year marks twenty years of the partnership between and the Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) Children's Hospital. Theirs is a unique relationship that allows young patients to design limited-edition Nikes telling their story and benefiting the hospital by raising over $37 million since the program’s inception. In celebration of this year’s milestone, Nike and Doernbecher teamed up to design the ‘Doernbecher Freestyle.’ This pair honours the legacy of Nike x Doernbecher, and only twenty pairs were created.

Throughout the history of the Doernbecher line, Nike has told over one hundred patient stories and released several grail-level sneakers. The Jordan 4 ‘Doernbecher’—designed by Isaiah Scott—is the headliner of a group that includes the Jordan 3 ‘Doernbecher’ by Cole Johanson, the Jordan 9 ‘Doernbecher’ by Oswaldo Jiminez, and various others. This will be the first time the Air Jordan 20 has been included in the program. This year’s AJ20 features all of the classic monikers of the Jordan 20 including the laser-engraved midfoot strap, which bears the initials of all 122 contributors to the Doernbecher line.

The rarity of this sneaker will command much attention from collectors. will auction it off starting at $1 on October 21, 2024, and bidding will close on October 30, 2024. A single pair was signed by Michael Jordan, and it already sold for $85,000, kicking off what is sure to be another memorable campaign supporting this noble cause.
