Jordan Brand and Zion Unveil the Air Jordan 34
Hot on the heels of , have officially unveiled the , hitting the Big Apple with none other than to show off the new design in style.
Billed by the Jumpman as 'an exercise in reductive design', the AJ34 strips the Air Jordan flagship down to the essentials and, according to Jordan Brand designer Tate Kuerbis, was based heavily on feedback from athletes rocking the AJ33 and their desire for better traction and less weight. As a result, the 34 is one of the lightest Jordans ever, weighing in at just 13.1 ounces for a US size 9. As for the traction, it comes in classic form with modifications meant to better propel the first step and quick cuts.
The main point of emphasis, however, is the brand new Eclipse Plate, which combines two Pebax pieces with a hollow core and Zoom Air for explosive-yet-stable cushioning. Naturally, there are also a ton of little details, including the number 23 in Morse code on the vamp of the shoe, 'J4-34, 2.89-2019' on the outsole to represent the 30th anniversary of the AJ4, and different heel counter branding on each and every colourway.
Expect the Air Jordan 34 to debut in 'Blue Void' on September 25 for $180.
