UPDATE: In the midst of all the Air Max hoo-rah in March, Jordan Brand will be dropping the AJ4 'Motorsport' on the eve of Air Max Day this week. The Closet Inc. gives us the first on-foot look at the very re-issue since the ultra-limited 2006 debut.

UPDATE: Ever since he was a kid, Michael Jordan has had a passion for motorbikes. Sadly for the GOAT, it was a passion that had to take a backseat once he hit the big leagues, with his NBA contracts strictly stipulating Jordan was to avoid any dangerous activity off the court. Once his contracts were finally done and dusted, MJ was free to get back on the bike, which he took to the full with the creation of Michael Jordan Motorsports in the mid-2000s.

In 2006, the 16 members of the competitive Superbike team were each gifted a blue flip of the 'Mars Blackmon'  released the same year. The shoe was never sold publicly and remained a grail for Jordan collectors. In 2017, the coveted colourway – nicknamed 'Motorsport' – will finally hit shelves. We finally have an official look at the long-awaited release and it looks every bit the business, with the only exception being the removal of the 'Mars Blackmon' logo from the heel.

The Air Jordan 4 'Motorsport' will release March 25 through Nike.com and select Jordan Brand stockists globally.

were true – the  'Motorsport' retro is set to finally be released to the public. American retailer Jimmy Jazz uploaded images of the 2017 retro, which looks little changed from the highly sought-after '06 OG. The only notable difference is the removal of the debossed Mars Blackman logo from the heel. Given that this release was only ever made available to Michael Jordan's family and friends – and that it's trading hands for thousands on the resale market – this minor change really isn't too hard to swallow.

The Air Jordan 4 'Motorsport' will release March 25 through Nike.com and select Jordan Brand stockists globally.
