The Air Jordan 5 ‘Lucky Green’ Charms its Way into JD Sports
have been bringing the heat with their recently, and while all eyes are on the Air Jordan 4 for its anniversary year, that doesn’t mean we should be overlooking the rest of the brand’s roster. For their latest drop, Jordan have revealed the ‘Lucky Green’ for the ladies, and it's just touched down at JD Sports.
Jordan himself wasn’t on board with green Jays back in the day, as he reportedly referred to green colourways as ‘Christmas shoes’ (the nod to the Bulls’ longstanding rivals, the Boston Celtics may or may not have had something to do with it as well). In 2009, Jordan Brand released the ‘Celtics’ Air Jordan 1 as part of the 2-part Defining Moments pack. Its white, green and black colour blocking served as a nod to Jordan’s monumental 63-point score when the teams faced each other in the 1986 playoffs. Keeping things even (and keeping Jordan on-side), the other pair in the pack was a pair of Breds.
Since then, ‘Lucky Green’ Jays have formed a semi-regular feature of the Jordan Brand line-up. Here, the Tinker Hatfield-designed, fighter jet-inspired Air Jordan 5 sees a crisp white upper give way to green accents, which land on the sock liners, midsoles, soles and embroidered Jordan Branding hits. Completing the colourway are black details arriving on the tongues, upper eyestays and additional midsole detailing.
While a ‘Lucky Green’ Jordan might not be at the top of MJ’s own must-cop list, there’s no denying that it's a super-clean colour combo that could easily charm its way into any rotation. If you’re looking to secure your size, then hit the links below to shop the ‘Lucky Green’ Air Jordan 5 at now.
