With turning 30 next year, Airheads have been hedging their bets on what celebratory drops we’ll be getting. So far, rumours of and retros are already attached to the brutalist beater, as well as a few exclusives that highlight the OG ‘Neon’ AM95’s significance within certain cities – namely London, New York and Tokyo. Alongside those, more city exclusives have touched down this year. An ‘’ version has already dropped, and now it appears that the 110 will also be running through The Six, as a ‘Toronto’ version is expected to land over the coming months.

Toronto might not be the first place you’d associate with the silhouette, but Swoosh fans in the city will no doubt appreciate the connections peppered throughout the pair’s make-up. And, if the ‘Atlanta’ pair is anything to go by, it’s likely that the ‘Toronto’ AM95 was also designed alongside some of the city’s key boutiques. Honing its focus on The Six’s skyline, the ‘Toronto’ AM95’s standout feature is the gradient effect lower panel, which paints a saturated sky ranging from red to purple to blue and reflects the lights and colours that make up the cityscape at sundown. These colours also correspond to sports teams like the Maple Leafs and Blue Jays, cementing the pair’s newly-established significance in the city with another community connection. Up top, the tongue tabs make the association more obvious: Velcro Air Max patches give way to ‘East End’ and ‘West End’ badges that call out the city’s main districts, while an insole graphic comes marked with ‘Valid for Toronto’ – just in case you’d forgotten where you’re stepping. Finally, red Air Bubbles are set into the style’s chunky black sole unit, and reflective piping, lacing and backtabs take the pair from day to night.

As mentioned, the ‘Toronto’ Air Max 95 is expected to follow suit from the ‘ATL’ version and drop sometime in 2024. Stay locked to Sneaker Freaker as we await more info!
