Aleali May Gets Her Own Jordan 1

While we’ve been eagerly anticipating the mainstream release of Aleali May’s , the Instagram sneaker superstar has been quietly cooking up an Air Jordan 1. Aleali took to IG to preview the shoe and while she was at it she explained the great personal significance the release holds for her.

May is evidently a stickler for detail: every component of this thoughtfully crafted Jordan 1 has been designed to reflect her memories of and experiences within the sneakersphere. As May explains, the shoe is 'dedicated to her city, Los Angeles.'

Aleali’s LA pride shines through in the make-up’s satin accents and chenille Swoosh, which resemble the vintage starter jackets worn by Cali teams like the Oakland Raiders and Sacramento Kings.

The design also pays homage to May’s father, who ignited her passion for sneakers. Premium black corduroy dominates the shoe's upper: the material reminds her of slippers her dad bought at a Slauson Super Mall swap meet.

The Aleali May x Air Jordan 1 ‘Satin Shadows’ will be released in both men’s and GS sizings, meaning everyone will have a chance to cop this rising star’s first signature shoe.
