Alexis Sablone Gets Her Own Converse CONS One Star Pro
CONS imprint is hooking up pro skater Alexis Sablone with her own . These aren't just any skate-ready, Alexis-branded One Stars, though. Instead, the kicks have been modified to meet Sablone's own specifications.
'First, I wanted to add a piece of rubber on the toe vamp,' says Sablone. 'When I flick my board, I like the last thing that touches the board to be rubber. That rubber improves the grip, and it also helps the shoe last longer — I tend to blow through shoes pretty quickly.'
With that in mind, the CONS squad did exactly that, and even went the extra distance by adding a double-stitched reinforcement to the eyestay of the beloved silhouette. As for the colourway, a clean white suede upper hosts gold star branding, gold foil insignia, and blue lining. Best of all, though? The kicks are set to arrive in unisex sizing.
'Skateboarding is for everyone,' says Sablone. 'I've grown up skating with mostly guys my whole life, but I skate with a lot of girls, too. I'm a female, and the shoe has my name on it, but I don't think it should be limited to one gender. The sizing makes the statement that it's for every skater.'
Sablone's One Star Pro arrives June 1.
